Joshua and I had mutual friends in high school but didn’t talk much because I was a grade above Joshua, but we would see each other around and we both thought each other were cute. I remember one of our first interactions was on a bus on the way to a football game where I was the mascot and Joshua was in band. I was sitting on the bus with Tori Golbuff (if you know, you know) who was at once, good friends with Joshua and I told her that I thought he was cute so she took his phone and I added myself on SnapChat. (So technically, I made the first move) from there, we still didn’t talk much but every once in a while we would respond to each other’s stories and have brief conversations.
It wasn’t until 2 years after we both graduated that my then roommate and now cousin, Jess (shout out Jess. Love you so much, you basically set us up), asked me to try a new church with her called Mosaic. It was pretty random, the church was 30 minutes away and I had never heard of it but I said sure and we went! Little did I know, this was Joshua’s home church at the time so we saw each other there and reconnected. We ended up going to a group home to volunteer and this is where Joshua and I really got to know each other more and spend a little time together. We both got really excited when we saw each other there. I remember seeing him get out of the car when he first got there and I instantly got nervous and I thought OMG he's here. We both started to like each other around this time so we ended up texting, sending each other TikTok’s and then we started FaceTiming every night.
Joshua, then, went to the panhandle 6 HOURS AWAY to work for 2 weeks. We kept FaceTiming for hours every night and at one point I jokingly said that I was going to drive up and visit him. It was weird. I had never really hung out with him and yet I missed him and hated that he was so far away. Long story short, I ended up visiting him while he was there. I drove 6 hours to hang out with a guy that I barely knew and it was the BEST decision I’ve ever made. 2 weeks later he asked me to be his girlfriend on Easter with a cute little basket and inside there was a golden egg with a little note that said will you be my girlfriend check yes or no. I obviously said yes :)
THEN WE FELL IN LOVE AND NOW WE ARE GETTING MARRIEDDDDD!
